Bruce Springsteen has debunked rumors that the rock icon might retire, telling fans at a recent show that he doesn’t plan on quitting anytime soon.
At a concert in Philadelphia last week, Sting assured fans that he wasn’t going anywhere for the foreseeable future.
In a fan-made video of the show, Sting told the audience, “We’ve been around for 50 years and we’re not giving up,” adding, “We’re not going to do any farewell tour crap. The E Street Band didn’t have a farewell tour.”
He then asked, “Farewell to what? Thousands of people screaming your name?” before adding sarcastically, “Yeah, I want out.
Sting, 74, has faced a series of health issues on his current tour, including vocal issues that caused him to miss three shows earlier this year and a peptic ulcer that caused him to reschedule more than 20 shows through late 2023.
The band’s current tour is scheduled to end with a final show at Vancouver’s Rogers Arena in November.
Sting is scheduled to perform a series of shows in Europe in 2025, including performances in France, the Czech Republic and Italy.
