The arrangement is temporary; when Dylan turns three next January, Samantha is willing to let her daughter stay with Joey for up to two nights a week. However, she asked him not to take her with her for long periods of time until she was older and consented to such visits.
She also didn’t want any of Joey’s other family members to be present when he had custody of Dylan.
