It looks like Jersey Shore police officers went too far on the boardwalk while patrolling the beach this week… and an unsuspecting surfer had an unsuspecting surfer choked in a chokehold due to a lack of proper documentation.
california surfer Liam MahoneyTuesday’s visit to Belmar Beach wasn’t an easy one, with a new video circulating online showing him getting into a heated confrontation with police over his failure to display his beach pass on his wetsuit.
Liam and a woman in his group tried to explain to police that he did have the badge required to enter the beach – which was on a backpack nearby – but the situation quickly escalated.
Liam was grabbed by police and put in a headlock by a much larger beach police officer – two of whom pinned him to the sand as he tried to leave the beach.
Watch the video… Some bystanders tried to step in and help the surfer, with some loudly accusing all 5 police officers of frightening the children of the bystanders for their aggressive behavior.

belmar police chief Tina Scott The department has since addressed the harrowing ordeal … confirming Liam has been arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and obstruction of justice. He was also fined for allegedly not carrying a $12 beach badge.
Chief Scott said the arrest will be thoroughly reviewed.
There are scoundrels everywhere.
