(Celebrity Interview) — armed manThe Detroit-based hardcore punk band has announced the cancellation of its upcoming ho9909 tour due to financial difficulties.
“It was very painful. However, the domino effect of some flight cancellations outside of our control (weather, health, etc.) and some personal emergencies forced us to make a drastic and costly shift over the summer. This resulted in what we hoped would be a dramatic transition in the summer. The financial situation has been quietly overcome over the past few months, however, as the tour enters the pre-production phase requiring resources that we simply do not have, we are forced to face the fact that our current situation is simply untenable for you. Bring on the show,” the band shared via Instagram on Wednesday.
“Please note that while this sucks, it’s the basic order of operations and a common behind-the-scenes pressure for a band like ours. The financial situation of indie bands as a whole is quite fragile, and is usually dealt with in a wrap-up manner. One (or in this case) Examples are a few things that go wrong and often have serious consequences. We do not seek additional sympathy and we are deeply sorry for the inconvenience. Countless people of your age are often in very similar situations – often through a lot. With hard work and ingenuity, this was an unfortunate incident that was just slightly beyond the breaking point,” the statement continued.
The tour was scheduled to begin on September 17th at The Axis in Toronto and end on October 14th at the House of Blues in San Diego.
According to the statement, organizers will contact ticket holders regarding refunds.
The Armed are still set to perform at several festivals this year, including Riotfest Chicago in September and Louder Than Life And Aftershock at DWP.
