Meghan Markle and Prince Harry appear to be having a hard time maintaining a stable staff roster at the Archewell Charitable Foundation.
New reports claim it’s all because of Meghan’s behavior in the office.
Last week, chief of staff Josh Kettler abruptly resigned from his job at Archewell.
It’s not the first time Meghan’s staff have resigned unexpectedly.
In fact, as NewsNation points out, 18 staff members resigned during Meghan and Harry’s time together.
An insider said the main reason for all this was Meghan’s “condescending” attitude.
What happened to Meghan Markle’s staff?
“It’s Meghan. She’s insufferable. She talks down to people, very condescendingly,” a source told the outlet.
Rumors about Meghan being rude to staff date back to her wedding to Prince Harry.
Contractors involved claimed they were severely mistreated. Some even vowed never to work with Meghan again.
Meghan’s former employees speak out
“It was so exciting to be invited to the wedding. I got to go to Kensington Palace and set up several mood boards in their offices at the time,” one photographer told The Daily Beast.
“Eventually, Megan walked in, took one look at what I had prepared, and said, ‘No,’ in the meanest way possible.” Then she turned around and walked out. I shed tears. It’s terrible.
A florist claims to be “horrified” by Meghan and has vowed to stop taking calls from the Duchess of Sussex, despite the commission’s reputation.
“It’s like she’s pretending she’s from the estate. But people who really belong to the estate don’t treat people who work for them like that,” one source said.
Defenders of the Sussexes pointed out that multiple staff members had worked with the couple for several years.
They noted that several British staff have moved to the United States with Harry and Meghan, and that there has also been considerable turnover among Kate Middleton and Prince William’s staff.
Meghan and Harry’s travel schedule sparks controversy
Harry and Meghan’s latest PR headache occurred during the couple’s controversial trip to Colombia.
The Sussexes have claimed in the past that Meghan would not be safe traveling to the UK.
Critics point out that such safety concerns have not stopped Harry and Meghan from traveling to a country with one of the highest homicide rates in the world.
Harry and Meghan made a similarly high-profile visit to Nigeria in May. Many felt it wasn’t worth it for the couple to accept a free trip in exchange for a photo opportunity.
“This (Colombia trip) is basically a free media trip. They won’t pay anything and will be treated like royalty (which they were),” a travel industry PR expert told NewsNation .
“Trips like this are for social media influencers and media… maybe that’s what they are now (influencers).”
“They have to be careful. They will be taking pictures with poor children… it’s starting to look like poverty porn,” another added.
Meghan and Harry will always have many supporters. But there’s no denying that it’s been a rough year for the couple from a PR perspective.
