She sure did, folks.
She finally, really, really, finally Do.
On Thursday, shortly after we learned they filed for a marriage license, we learned Jana Duggar and Stephen Weisman’s relationship took another step forward…
…They actually got married!
“I think it’s one of those things that every girl dreams of happening one day,” Jana told People of her wedding two days before it took place.
“For me, it felt like, ‘Well, it’s never going to come.’ But now it’s starting to sink in.
“Just to see it happen is unbelievable, a little unbelievable. It’s a dream come true.
As we all know, Jana is 34 years old and single, which is a completely normal and boring fact – until one considers the family she grew up in.
For years, parents Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar went to great lengths to marry off their daughters and turn them into baby-making factories as young as possible.
According to People magazine, Duggar and Wissmann got engaged on June 15 and then tied the knot in front of 500 guests at The Grand at Willow Springs.
Jessa Duggar Seewald served as the bride’s maid of honor … while her sister-in-law Abbie Duggar and siblings Joy-Anna Forsyth, Johannah Duggar, Jinger Duggar Vuolo and Jordyn Duggar served as bridesmaids.
The “Counting On” star originally sparked engagement rumors earlier this summer when she was seen visiting South Carolina with her fraternal twin brother, John-David Duggar. Wearing a silver ring on her ring finger.
She only confirmed at the time that she had finally moved out of her parents’ home in Arkansas.
“Yes, I long to get married, and I think that will come one day, but I guess… I’m just trying to keep busy with what’s going on in my life,” Jana told Us Weekly in 2020.
Now, she’s clearly so happy that she hasn’t read any of the scripts her mom and dad have written.
“We come from two big families (Weisman is one of 13 siblings) and we’re so happy to be able to come together and celebrate moments like this,” Jana also told People. “So to have them all there, it means a lot.”
As mentioned above, Weisman comes from a well-known fundamentalist family, and the family’s blog describes Stephen as a “man of many talents.”
“He enjoyed working as a pilot, assistant manager for Wissmann Enterprises, Inc., building small furniture, and staying physically active through exercise and sports,” his biography states.
“He has a knack for initiating conversations that encourage and challenge, and has a heart for ministry. He directs many of our musical arrangements, plays mandolin and guitar, and sings lead vocals and bass.
Stephen is also the brother of Hannah Weisman…who is married to Jana’s brother, Jeremiah Duggar.
Isn’t this sweet, romantic, not weird, and a sign of how excited this incest community is?
Congratulations to newlyweds Jana Duggar and Stephen Wissmann!
