Travis Kelce is officially Troy Botlon!
Taylor Swift’s boyfriend has proven his character off the football field and is now launching an acting career in a big way.
Being on TV isn’t new to him though – remember his reality show? – Travis now has to get into character acting.
And this character is full of mystery!
Travis Kelce makes his acting debut in Ryan Murphy’s new drama ‘Grotesquerie’
The last place you would expect is a scary place among demons and nuns, but here we are!
When it was announced that the KC Chiefs tight end would be coming to television, Prime tapped him to star in its upcoming reality show Are You Smarter Than A Celebrity?
To the shock of others, not long after, Travis was also confirmed to star in Ryan Murphy’s new horror thriller Grotesquerie, alongside Nessie Nash-Bates.
Everyone got their first look at Travis’ performance when the trailer was released on August 15 — but not everyone was excited about it!
One fan wrote: “As a Travis stan this is horrible for me.” X.
“I like Travis Kelce but I have a strong objection to his new show,” another wrote.
Apparently, the show was too much for his—and maybe even Taylor Swift’s—casual fans.
But is it really that scary? Brilliantly…
Ryan Murphy’s ‘Freaky’ Lives Up to Its Title
The official synopsis for “Breakers” begins: “A series of heinous crimes disrupts a small community. Detective Lois Tryon (Nash Bates) finds the crimes deeply personal, and… It was as if someone—or something—was laughing at her.
Okay, okay – there’s definitely an ominous atmosphere. But there’s nothing we haven’t heard before.
Then there’s a tease about a “strained relationship with her daughter” and some “inner demons” she needs to deal with. Again, of course.
But then, things took a turn for the worse:
With no clues and no idea where to turn, she accepts the help of Sister Megan (Michaela Diamond), a nun and reporter for The Catholic Guardian. Sister Megan has her own difficult past and has seen the worst of humanity, but she still believes in humanity’s capacity for good. Louis, on the other hand, worries that the world is succumbing to evil. As Sister Louise and Sister Megan string together the clues, they find themselves tangled in a treacherous web that seems to raise more questions than answers.
Now, pair that description with the trailer above – this thing has nightmare written all over it!
But the question you might be asking yourself is: Where does Travis fit into all of this?
Travis Kelce’s ‘weird’ character is a mystery
The show’s IMDB page states that Kelce will appear in all 10 episodes, meaning he plays a major role.
But what role is that? Well, even FX hasn’t spoiled that yet.
In a press release announcing the cast and roles, he listed it this way:
The series stars Niecy Nash-Bates as “Detective Lois Tryon”, Courtney B. Vance as “Marshall Tryon”, and Leslie Manville as “Nurse Red” “, Michaela Diamond as “Sister Megan”, Nicholas Alexander Chavez as “Father Charlie”, Raven Goodwin as “Merritt Tryon” and Travis Kelce .
That’s it! Nothing more!
I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what happens when the show premieres.
Grotesquerie will premiere on FX on September 25 at 10pm ET/PT and will be available on Hulu the following day.
