metal bandThe M72 World Tour kicks off the North American leg of this summer’s swing sport at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, with no repeat weekend. You may ask, why do I only write about Sunday shows? Well, when I bought two tickets metal band program in November 2022, I had no way of knowing that my oldest son, Garrett, would be taking Laura as his bride that Saturday in Ohio. Doing something with my kids is probably one of the few things that is more important than a show close to home.
The day after the wedding, I checked to see if anything had happened, and when Garrett said no, his brother Jagger, my frequent concert companion, and I looked for a flight to get us back in time. Make an already special weekend even better metal band Put on a great show. I heard from people who were there both nights that this was the better of the two. Absolutely for me.
metal band The show kicked off with three old school songs, “Whiplash,” “For Whom the Bell Tolls,” and one of my favorites, “Ride the Lightning.” Say hello to Boston from James Hetfield (vocals, rhythm guitar), who celebrated your birthday with you the day before. He commented that he didn’t even know which album it was, but was sure the audience would sing “Until It Sleeps.”
With Lars Ulrich (drums) changing the position of the drum kit and spreading out on the circular stage, it was time to change the drums. I can see two songs from the new album getting more intense 72 seasons“Eternal Light” and “Screaming Suicide”. Hetfield and Ulrich left the stage and were replaced by Rob Trujillo (bassist) and Kirk Hammett (lead guitar) for the night’s graffiti. What a surprise tonight as Trujillo also took over the lead vocals and the two performed a cover of Neil Diamond’s “Sweet Caroline.” They also teased the audience
The opening riff of Chandel’s “Dirty Water” was played to a Boston audience.
“Welcome Home” features a video of an asylum mannequin playing an air instrument. During “Wherever I May Roam,” Trujillo stepped onto a small circular platform and strolled above the heads of fans in the “snake pit” in the inner circle of the stage. After another drum break and the band all huddled together for a killer metal instrumental of “The Call of Ktulu,” Hetfield shouted to former bassist Cliff Burton, who was killed in a tour bus accident in 1986: “We miss you. Cliff”.
The massive power ballad “The Unforgiven” showcases Hetfield’s vocals and guitar playing. Next is the longest song metal band Playing “Inamorata” in concert, Hetfield let the audience know they may be old, but they’re still good. The final drum roll of the night was followed by “Blackened,” also the title of the band’s signature whiskey. The first fireworks show of the night was “Moths to the Flame”.
The band returned after a short break to perform two more songs. Along with the sounds of machine gun fire and bomb drops, Number One also made full use of pyrotechnics. As Mariano Rivera has done in the past, Enter Sandman ended the night while also unleashing a giant beach ball on the crowd.
The only negative thing about the evening was the weather which affected the start of the night. The competition time of “Ice Nine Kills” originally scheduled to be played first was completely shortened, and the competition time of “Five Finger Death Punch” was also shortened to 30 minutes. But let’s face it, people come to see the Almighty metal band And they did.
