Jinger Duggar has a very complicated relationship with the world of reality TV.
As you no doubt know, Jinger grew up on television, thanks to her family’s controversial TLC show.
Ginger has largely distanced herself from the radical beliefs of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar. But she didn’t shy away from the spotlight.
In fact, Jinger’s recent memoir has taken her fame to a new level.
Ginger Dugger’s new life
She remains active on social media (1.4 million followers on Instagram) and podcasting.
Jinger currently hosts a podcast with her husband, Jeremy Vuolo.
While the couple often talks about their lives as parents of two children, fans hoping to see a reality show starring the Vuolos may be disappointed.
Jinger’s reality TV show memories
In the latest episode of her podcast, Jinger shared that while she has some great memories of filming with her family, there have also been some events that happened in front of the camera that she calls “traumatic.”
One of the incidents involved a terrifying moment while riding a horse.
“We were in New Mexico at Truth or Consequences. This dude ranch was basically two and a half hours away from anything, and even the nearest town had nothing,” she recalled.
“We kept driving and driving, and it felt like we would never get there. … This is a remote ranch.
“We showed up to this dude ranch and we were like, ‘This is the best! We get to ride horses no matter how many days we stay there,'” Ginger continued.
“One day they took us on an outing and I got on a horse and they said, ‘This horse is super cold and a little slow.'” But, there was one thing they didn’t tell me.
“We came to this body of water [that] It was like a wide creek, but the horse stood there for a second and then he jumped over the creek with me on his back and started bumping. I clutched the horn. This shocked me so they took me away.
Jinger recalled that she was surprised her horrific moment didn’t appear in the episode.
“perhaps [they didn’t use the footage] Because I’m traumatized [and] They were trying to be nice,” she speculated. “Generally speaking, it’s good television.”
This experience may be a big reason why Ginger and Jeremy are eager to keep the TV cameras away from their kids.
“Even before we had the kids, we had been talking about it for a while and whether we wanted them to be in the public eye,” Ginger told us weekly January 2023.
“We decided to keep them out of the public eye and let them choose what they wanted to do. So that was our decision,” she added.
“We’ll sometimes post pictures or little videos of the back of their heads where you can hear their little voices or whatever. But we plan to stick to not showing up.
In other words, you probably won’t be seeing a reality TV show starring Vuolos anytime soon. This is probably for the best.
