A former contestant on “The Bachelorette” has had a run-in with the law.
again.
James McCoy Taylor was arrested on Sunday and charged with two counts: assault causing bodily harm and unlawful restraint, Page Six reported.
He has since been released on $8,000 bail.
A public information officer with the College Station Police Department told the New York Post today that Taylor was handcuffed and dragged away from a bar in the Northgate Entertainment District in Brazos County, Texas.
We don’t have any more information on what exactly happened … but jail records show the charges are actually related to some sort of incident that occurred on April 24th.
Taylor, who is all smiles in the photo, denied any wrongdoing when contacted by Page Six this morning.
However, he has yet to make a public statement.
Taylor was JoJo Fletcher’s suitor on her 2016 season of The Bachelorette.
In September 2022, Taylor was arrested for drunk driving and illegal carrying of weapons. A month later, a Brazos County judge found Taylor guilty on both counts.
He was sentenced to five days in jail, ordered to pay a $500 fine and $585 in court costs and had his driver’s license suspended.
Elsewhere, the alleged offender was also involved in the insurrection at the Capitol in Washington, D.C., on January 6, 2021, in protest of former President Donald Trump’s 2020 election defeat.
“A huge thank you to the #TheBachelor family for supporting me… from top to bottom during this time,” he wrote on Twitter shortly after the riots subsided.
“Conservative producers are the best!! Thank you @ABCNetwork @ABC and @BachelorABC for supporting me while I legitimately support our President.
Of course, this is not the case.
“The Bachelorette” creator Mike Fleiss publicly kicked Taylor off “Bachelor Nation” in 2021 after Taylor supported an attempted coup.
“Whoever that ex-actor/idiot asshole who was at Trump’s treasonous rally is, I’ve got a message for you… You’re officially kicked out of the #BachelorNation!!!” Fleiss wrote at the time, later adding :
Thanks everyone for letting me know. @JamesTaylor_com Shame on you.
