By basically all accounts, Alfredo and Lopez spent almost no time together this summer.
To the best of our knowledge, there was no infidelity. Separated couples don’t always have to fight. The distance between them seemed to grow far apart.
So why haven’t they actually divorced yet?
According to TMZ, Lopez and Affleck are not speaking these days. Like, exactly. Not in person. Not over the phone.
That makes ironing out the details of the divorce quite challenging… although TMZ sources also confirmed that a prenuptial agreement is in place, and that Affleck and Lopez only share a Beverly Hills home that’s currently for sale.
Page Six, meanwhile, tells a slightly different story.
The celebrity gossip outlet claimed Affleck was the one holding things back, writing this week that Affleck didn’t want to file a lawsuit in order to “avoid” [Lopez] Even more embarrassing.
However, this strategy backfired.
“She was furious,” the newspaper’s source said. “He humiliated her. He was the one who initiated the reunion.
The superstars rekindled their relationship in July 2021 after Lopez split from then-fiancé Alex Rodriguez.
Lopez and Affleck, who previously gained notoriety after co-starring in the movie “Girlfriend” from 2002 to 2004, even got engaged during this period, but didn’t get married until 2022.
“He humiliated her because she made a fuss about him being the love of her life,” the Page Six insider added. “They just had two weddings two years ago. It’s some kind of record, they’re not kids.
Then there’s the following from Entertainment Tonight , which makes it sound like everything is a little friendlier than the above implies.
ET now writes that the couple is “waiting to announce their split officially as they want to make sure everything goes smoothly, especially for everyone involved.”
“Neither of them wanted the process to be rushed. They approached the separation with as much grace, understanding and tenderness as possible.
It’s hard to know what to believe at this point.
ET also reported on Monday: “They want to make sure the kids are able to adjust to the transition and where they live and so on.”
“They don’t want to feel like they’re pulling the rug out from under their kids. They’re working together to make sure this transition is as healthy and easy as possible.
