When photos of Kate Middleton sunbathing naked were leaked in 2011, Donald Trump felt the need to comment on the matter. His comments angered Prince William.
This remains true to this day.
The incident occurred while the royal family were on holiday in Provence.
Some aggressive paparazzi took photos of Kate from a distance with long-lens cameras.
Donald Trump humiliates Kate Middleton, angers Prince William
It was a shocking invasion of her privacy and an infuriating introduction to royal life.
But Donald Trump’s bizarre response to the situation was to shame Kate Middleton for allowing it to happen, sparking the ire of Prince William.
“Kate Middleton is great, but she should not be sunbathing naked and she has only herself to blame,” Trump tweeted at the time.
“If Kate sunbathed naked, who wouldn’t take a picture of her and make a lot of money? Come on, Kate!
These comments were made at a very vulnerable time for Will and Kate.
According to royal biographer Robert Jobson, the couple was angry at Trump’s decision to side with the tabloids.
“William was reportedly furious when Donald Trump tweeted about it,” Jobson writes in his new book about Kate (via independent).
“The whole incident left the Duchess feeling ‘violated,'” the reporter continued.
This won’t be the last time Trump comments on royal matters.
Today, though, the former president mostly sticks to his criticism of Harry and Meghan. This might be more to Will and Kate’s liking.
Will and Kate’s feud with Harry and Meghan
Elsewhere in the book, Jobson writes about Kate’s anger at details revealed in Harry’s controversial memoir.
The author said she was particularly outraged by a passage in which Harry claimed Kate confronted Meghan over comments she made about her behavior during her pregnancy.
“According to Harry’s memoirs, Catherine freeconfronted Meghan about the “baby brain” comment and said, “You talked about my hormones. We’re not close enough for you to talk about my hormones,” he wrote.
“According to Harry, Meghan was surprised and said that was the way she talked to her girlfriends,” Jobson continued.
“William intervened and apparently pointed at Meghan and called her ‘rude’. Meghan stood up and said to him: ‘Get your fingers out of my face.’
Needless to say, it doesn’t sound like this feud is going to be resolved anytime soon.
We wouldn’t be surprised if Donald Trump continues to tweet about this!
