The cover of this month’s Dance Informa Australia edition is an image created and photographed by one of Australia’s leading dance photographers, Leah Hoffman of Hoffa Studios Photography. Hoffmann specializes in fine art dance portraiture and lives in Melbourne, home of the Victorian Dance Festival (VDF).
This year, Dance Informa has partnered with Hoffa Studios Photography and VDF to provide dancers at the event with exciting experiences and the opportunity to realize their dreams.
VDF welcomes thousands of passionate dancers to Melbourne every year to spill their souls on the dance floor. The next generation of dance stars had the opportunity to showcase their talents in front of photographer Hoffman, who captured their moves live at the event. Hoffman’s footage was channeled into special edition Dance Informa VDF24 covers, which are gifts for dancers to enjoy at home and impress friends on social media.
Among them, young Milla Hall’s stunning firebird jump stood out, attracting the team of Dance Informa, VDF and Hoffa Studios Photography. Her beautiful jumps earned her a professional portrait shoot with Hoffa Studios for the cover of the August/September 2024 edition.
Hall was delighted to be chosen, saying, “I love reading Dance Informa and all the upcoming workshops and performances. I love seeing all the photos of the super talented dancers!
For Hall, the whole experience was nothing short of magical. “I absolutely love VDF. It’s my favorite part of the year. I love learning from so many talented choreographers and learning about unique styles that we don’t always have access to, like Afro-fusion and Latin; they’re very Fun. After two amazing days, I loved watching the Ignite show and watching all the incredible dancers perform on stage. This is my third year and I will definitely be back in 2025.
As part of the award, Hall received a luxurious professional hair and makeup treatment, followed by exclusive photos of Hoffa Studio Photography’s signature fabric look.
She said, “It was so much fun doing hair and makeup and working with Leah to help her realize her vision. She is so good and so talented. We had so much fun. I can’t wait to go back for the next shoot.
The cover’s theme depicts the transition from winter to spring – something we all welcome after what has been a very cold winter so far.
When asked about her hopes for the future, Hall said, “I love any opportunity to perform on stage and do something I love. I hope to become a full-time dancer and continue to grow. I want to take advantage of every opportunity.”
Congratulations to Mira Hall for being an amazing dance model and inspiring so many!
