It took Meri Brown a long time to get here.
As you most likely know by now, the veteran Sister Wives actor is no longer married to Kody Brown. Not legally, not mentally.
In January 2023, the former couple broke their silence on the end of their long-brewing romance, stating the following:
“After more than a decade of navigating our relationship in our unique ways, we have decided to permanently end our marriage…
“Throughout this process, we are committed to kindness and respect for each other and all members of our family,” the former concluded today.
“We are also committed to continuing to repair all relationships with our family so that we can move forward with forgiveness, grace and love.”
Meri was quick to tell her social media fans at the time that she had no ill feelings towards her ex at all.
The thing is, Cody and Meri hadn’t slept together in ten years when they broke up.
Does Meri regret waiting so long to leave such an unhealthy and loveless union?
Meri explained on The Sarah Fraser Show podcast this week that sometimes, she gets stuck in a “negative headspace” and wonders why she and Kody didn’t figure out their breakup a long time ago.
That way, “I can date in my 40s instead of dating in my 50s,” she told the host.
The reality star admitted during the exchange that her life “would have been a lot easier” if she and Kody had ended their relationship earlier.
“But then I really thought about it and was like, wait a minute. What did I learn through this process?” Brown continued.
“How confident am I in where I am now as a result of this process? You know what I mean? I don’t have any regrets about where I am now and where I left when I left.
Meri has previously said she doesn’t talk to any of her former sisters’ wives, according to records.
It’s unclear what’s going on with Kody now, but the TLC source said she’ll always “wonder” about the former couple’s future if they didn’t give everything possible to their relationship.
At this point, Meri said she’s “very, very confident” in her situation and feelings.
No, she’s not dating. Not yet, anyway.
But she is willing to find love again.
“Prince Charming hasn’t come yet. I’m not really looking for a prince. No, I’m looking for a king,” Meri told fans in April. “There’s some energy difference there. The prince is still a boy. I want someone who knows who he is.
