NASHVILLE (CelebrityAccess) – The American Music Association has announced the performers for the 23rd Annual America’s Honor Awards to be held on September 18 at Nashville’s famed Ryman Auditorium.
This year’s awards show will feature performances from award-winning legends, buzzy new artists and long-time fan favorites, including Blind Alabama Boy Brandy Clark and SistaStrings, Charles Wesley Godwin, Dave Alvin, Dwight Yokom, Fantastic Negrito, Riff Riff, Joby Riccio, Caitlin Butts, Larkin Poe , The Milk Carton Kids, Noah Kahan, Sarah Jarosz, Shelby Lynn, Sierra Ferrell, Turnpike Troubadours, War and Treaties, Waxahatchee and MJ Lenderman, and Wyatt Flores.
In addition to the annual “Best of the Year” awards presented during the program (see nominees below), 2024 honors and awards include this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award recipients: The Blind Boys of Alabama, Dave Alvin, Don Wass, Dwight Yokom, Pastor Gary Davis, and Shelby Lynn.
Pastor Gary Davis (posthumously) will receive the Legacy Award in partnership with the National Museum of African American Music and will be recognized through performances of Fantastic Negrito.
In addition, the show will be filmed and aired on PBS during restricted hours in Austin in November.
For more than two decades, the prestigious awards show has celebrated pioneering mainstays and groundbreaking newcomers while presenting unforgettable moments in music history, including Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash (June Carter Cash)’s last live performance, as well as exciting appearances by kd Lang and Van Morrison. George Straight, Don Henley, the late John Prine, Bonnie Raitt, Gregg Allman, The Lumineers, Mumford & Sons, Alabama Shakes, Emmylou Harris, Solomon Burke, Rosanna Cash, the late Dr. John and Dan Auerbach, Irma Thomas, Levon Helm, Robert Plant and others.
The awards show, the signature event of the 24th annual Festival of America, will be held September 17-21 at new and historic venues throughout Nashville.
