Sam Smith is a Grammy and Oscar-winning singer and songwriter from London, England. their first album, in lonely moments, released in 2014. In this episode, in honor of the song’s tenth anniversary, Sam and I talk about the making of “Stay With Me.” I also spoke with Sam’s frequent collaborator Jimmy Napes, who is also an award-winning producer and songwriter. The two of them tell the story of how the song started and how it became a hit. A few years later, things changed again.
