TMZ Studios’ new series Strange and Suspicious delves into stories of the weird and sinister…and this time, the team breaks down the allure of truck driving to those who hunt their fellow humans.
The “Strange & Suspicious” panel discussed more than 400 murders that authorities believe were committed by truckers in the United States… pointing to the prostitute subculture and the mental health issues faced by truckers as contributing to the urge to kill in predisposed individuals.
According to “S&S” staff, many serial killers are simply looking for a way to get away with murder…and, constant movement over long distances provides the cover that some are looking for.
Think of it this way…a truck driver can kill a person in one state, drive their body a thousand miles away, and dump them on the side of the road – and, it’s nearly impossible to connect them.
The lack of communication between law enforcement in different jurisdictions goes a long way in helping the killers…as long as they keep moving, they can keep killing.
