44th president issue a statement Minutes ago on Sunday… it was a warm tribute to the current president – who he called “a patriot of the highest order.”
Obama said that during the years they worked side by side as president and vice president, he came to admire Biden’s character… a character that he said helped Biden save the country from destruction over the past few years.
Barrack pointed to Joe’s economic, international and climate change victories while in office… though he acknowledged his greatest achievement was getting Trump out of office in 2020.
Obama said such a stellar record gave Biden every right to run for re-election, adding that he had never seen Joe back down from a fight — so he knew it would be tough for the sitting president to drop out of the race.
And then Barak ran as it stands… Also, his comments are interesting because he didn’t immediately quit and return Kamala Harris.
Instead, Barak said he was “very confident that our party leaders will be able to create a process from which an outstanding nominee will emerge”… So, basically, he’s waiting to see where everyone comes in on one How fair is the open field.
Biden has endorsed Kamala Harris — and she says she is It’s an honor to be recognized by him — but it appears Barak won’t be involved until the party decides on its next candidate. Incidentally, he also made the same move in 2016 until later Hillary Clinton Winning nominations to support her.
Of note… recent reports claim that Barack has told Democratic ally Joe Need to drop out of school For the good of the party – although he didn’t say that to his face.
Regardless, Barack had some kind words for Joe…even as he hedged on the next president.
