In the documents obtained by TMZ … the manner of Richard’s death is not listed, instead stating that the manner of death is still pending investigation. This explains why there is still no cause of death to report.
However, the fitness guru – who was actually called a “wellness motivator” on his credentials – appears to have been laid to rest just a week after his death. According to doctors, Richard was buried at Pierce Brothers Westwood Village Memorial Park and Mortuary in Los Angeles.
The death certificate also gives us some insight into Richard’s personal life… which is interesting because the TV personality was quite reclusive in the last few years of his life. Specifically, it states that Richard was a bachelor at the time of his death and had never married.
Keep in mind that Richard has never spoken publicly about his sexuality, even though many consider him a queer icon.
TMZ reports the story… Richard was found unresponsive in his Los Angeles home by his housekeeper on Saturday morning, the day after his 76th birthday. Paramedics were called to the scene, but he Unfortunately pronounced dead.
While police are investigating Richard’s death, law enforcement sources tell us they believe it was a natural death.
As TMZ previously reported … Richard fell in the bathroom the night before he died after feeling dizzy. Although his housekeeper encouraged him to see a doctor, we’re told he refused…because he was celebrating a birthday.
