The reality star took to social media Thursday to mark two years of sobriety. Richards, 55, proudly shares her journey, highlighting the challenges and triumphs of her alcohol-free lifestyle.
“This week marks my two-year sobriety anniversary (July 15th). There was a time when even the thought of being sober for two weeks seemed impossible,” real housewives of beverly hills the star captioned the Instagram post, along with a selfie of herself working out in the gym. “I’m proud that I had the willpower to stay on this path.”
In the photos shared, Kyle showed off her toned physique in a black workout outfit from her home gym, with her loyal dog in the background.
Kyle candidly discussed the social pressure she faced and revealed that many people, including well-meaning friends, wanted her to start drinking again. “Everyone loved ‘Party Kyle.’ I think that was the hardest part of it all – the resistance from other people,” she admits.
The mother of four looked back on her past as a “people pleaser” who often relied on alcohol to cope with social situations. However, she stressed that her priorities have changed. “My mental and physical health has become more important to me. It would have been more difficult to get through these difficult times if I drank,” she shared, alluding to her separation from her husband Mauricio Umanski.
Kyle and Mauricio Last year, they ended their 27-year marriage. Recently, Mauricio was seen Kiss the mysterious woman at an airport on the Greek island of Mykonos, fueling speculation that their marriage is over for good.
Despite the personal upheaval, Kyle remains committed to staying sober and happy. She has removed “wife” from her Instagram bio and is committed to looking her best every day when she wakes up. “Mentally and physically strong enough to face anything that comes my way,” she continued, expressing her happiness and inspiration when strangers tell her she inspires them to choose a drink-free lifestyle.
“Personally, I prefer to see people and situations as they are. And without the anxiety ❤️ #alcoholfree,” she concluded her post.
Mauricio and Kyle tie the knot 1996, confirmed their separation last summer.
