(CelebrityAccess) — British rock band The Smile, composed of Radiohead members Thom Yorke, Tom Skinner and Jonny Greenwood, have announced the cancellation of their European tour due to a medical emergency.
In a post on social media, a representative for the band wrote:
“A few days ago, Jonny became seriously ill with an infection and required emergency hospitalization, some of which required treatment in the intensive care unit. Fortunately, he is now out of danger and will be going home soon.
The medical team responsible for Jonny’s care instructed us to cancel all activities until he had time to fully recover. For this reason, Smile’s European tour in August was cancelled.
The tour is set to kick off at Sigulda Castle in Latvia on August 13th, with performances throughout Europe throughout the month before concluding at Marina Norte in Valencia, Spain on August 28th.
The Smile are touring in support of their second studio album Wall of Eyes, which was released in January via XL Recordings.
