SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA (CelebrityAccess) – Larry Vallon, a dominant figure in the Southern California concert scene for more than 50 years, died Sunday (July 14) at his home. Details of the cause of death are not yet known.
Wallone had a monumental career in concert production and made significant contributions to the nation’s concert industry. He has worked with Concert Associates, Wolf and Rissmiller, Universal Amphitheater, Larry Vallon Presents and AEG. Over the years he has produced thousands of shows, including performances by legendary acts such as the Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd and the Who, as well as small theatrical productions.
Vallon announced his retirement from AEG Presents in 2019 at the age of 72 and stayed on as a consultant with the promoter for one more year. Vallon was serving as executive vice president of AEG Presents at the time of the announcement. He joined the company in 2004 as Vice President (VP) of National Booking.
Prior to joining AEG, Vallon worked at Universal Music for 23 years. He initially joined as MCA Concerts and later transitioned to Universal Concerts. During his tenure, he was instrumental in the development of such renowned venues as Fiddler’s Green in Englewood, Colorado. He transformed the Globe Amphitheater into a popular touring venue for stars such as Frank Sinatra and Linda Ronstadt.
Vallone began his career as a runner for Wolf & Rissmiller Presents concert promoters Jim Rissmiller and Steve Wolf. He quickly rose through the ranks to stage manager and eventually junior partner before founding his own company, Larry Vallon Presents.
He is survived by his wife Claudia and daughters.
