(Hypebot) — All new releases have new Apple Music upload requirements designed to enhance the listener experience. Among the changes Apple is sharing with digital music publishers is that all uploaded songs must include lyrics and one or more characters from each of its three contributor groups.
Past versions are not affected.
Apple Music adds requirements for all new music uploads
All songs with vocal content must now upload lyrics – even those with just one or two words. Submitted lyrics are static unless you register and upload them to Musixmatch.
Additionally, one or more roles must be listed in three contributor groups (Writers, Performers, and Production & Engineering). example:
performing artist and their roles such as vocals, acoustic guitar and drums,
Composition and Lyrics such as lyricists, composers and arrangers
Production and Engineering, Including producers, recording engineers, mixing engineers, and mastering engineers
