Yes, Hannah Burner was fired summer house — but that didn’t stop her from making a massive comeback!
The former reality star has become a stand-up darling on Netflix, moments after her first special debuted on the streamer in July. As a relative newcomer, comedy fans were surprised by her performance on the popular Bravo series, summer houseseveral seasons.
They were even more fascinated to find out she was fired from the show for a very strange reason. Hannah herself is more than happy to discuss this reason.

Fans will remember her confusing back-and-forth relationship with Luke Gulbrandson, as well as her friendship with Amanda Batula, who was famous for her relationship with Batula’s fiancé Kyle ·Cook’s constant bickering worsened.
When it comes to her experience playing a so-called villain in the world of reality TV, Hannah is honest and says she knew from the beginning it wouldn’t last.
“I liked parts of it, but a lot of it made me uncomfortable,” Hannah admits. type.
“Reality TV helps me let people know who I am. It’s a case of ‘put yourself in different situations, take what you like from them, and then move on.’ I love the feeling of being in front of the camera.
Why Hannah Berner was fired from Bravo’s Summer House
In mid-May 2021, Hannah announced that she would not be returning to Hampton next season.
Fans immediately started debating whether she was fired or left on her own terms.
Kate Chastain was the first to hint that the decision to leave wasn’t her own. She posted a cryptic tweet on it X (formerly Twitter). It read: “Tell me you’re fired without telling me you’re fired #summerhouse.” This came just hours after Hannah announced the news.
So, not subtle.
But almost immediately, Hannah announced a summer comedy tour and launched a TikTok channel featuring her bold interview style. As a result, many believed she left peacefully after apparently having no reason to stay.
Three years later, her truth began to emerge.
Hannah breaks silence
On July 9, the day after her first Netflix special, We Ride at Dawn, aired, Hannah was interviewed for the BFFs podcast, which included Josh, Dave, and Brianna.
“If I hadn’t been fired, I wouldn’t have gotten the Netflix special summer house”, Hannah boldly declared, which opened the floodgates for conversation.
Dave asked Hannah if the real reason she was fired from the show was because she promoted Truly Seltzer.

For those who don’t know, here’s a little background: Hannah’s aforementioned ex-bestie Amanda and her husband Kyle own Loverboy, a rival soda company. While the pair’s feud with Hannah predates the sponsored drunken drama, it proved to be the final blow for everyone.
“I didn’t know I wasn’t allowed to have other drinks,” Hannah quipped before getting to the crux of the matter. “I think these shows are so much about ego…it just becomes a fight for ego, a fight for screen time. It’s just not that interesting.
Hannah made it clear that “Bravo didn’t fire” her, but that the move was more about the cast pushing her out and not wanting to be “friends” anymore. But now, Hannah admits, she’s more focused on the future.
“Revenge is the best motivator,” she declared.
