Meghan Markle has launched a new company and fans will soon be able to get involved. But what is it?
This spring, the soft launch of Meghan Markle’s lifestyle brand inadvertently overlapped with Kate Middleton’s surprise appearance at Trooping The Color.
The Duchess of Sussex has no control over this. However, she’s clearly very excited about launching a new line of products.
Introducing American Riviera Orchards. (Listen, King Charles!)
American Riviera Orchards is Meghan Markle’s new company
On March 15, Meghan Markle unceremoniously activated the brand’s Instagram page.
American Riviera Orchards will sell home furnishings such as home décor and kitchen items, according to the documents. This means decanters, napkin rings, cutlery, tablecloths and a full-blown cookbook.
There are also edible items such as jams, marmalades, vegetable spreads, nut butters, nut butters and fruit creams.
As you can see, Meghan Markle’s new company’s Instagram page currently features one of those seemingly obligatory grids of composite images. Many companies use these designs when setting up their company, especially before getting ready to commit to an actual product.
However, American Riviera Orchards appears to be named after Meghan and Harry’s home in Santa Barbara. The area surrounding coastal cities is known as the American Riviera.
As for the “orchard” part, it is a descriptive name that also refers to the amount of fruit contained in the product. Especially jams, jellies and preserves.
Meghan shares products from her new company with friends
Back in April, Meghan’s friends—from athletes to fashion designers and more—began showing off American Riviera Orchards gift baskets on their Instagram Stories.
Notably, polo star Nacho Figueras (a close friend of Meghan and Harry) shared a photo of his sample on June 14.
Just hours before Kate Middleton attended Trooping The Color, the British celebration of the birthday of the current monarch, Trooping the Color Activity. the time is Clearly Meghan didn’t do it.
Notably, Figueras’ Instagram post shows off raspberry jam (apparently not the only such product) as well as some bone-shaped dog treats.
It’s unclear whether American Riviera Orchards will include dog food as part of its offering at launch. These always make a great custom gift for friends.
But the trademark application mentions dog food and other pet products. It sounds like this line of products is part of that plan.
Does Meghan Markle want King Charles’ approval?
according to a report OK! MagazineMeghan Markle hopes her father-in-law will show his support for her new company.
An inside source said: “Meghan is looking for support wherever she can.” “Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice are high on her list, but she is aiming even higher and wants King Charles recognition.”
The insider added: “Despite all the drama, Meghan doesn’t see why they shouldn’t be able to drum up some support and support.”
There is no evidence that Meghan is seeking royal approval for her new company, or that she is asking Harry for a helping hand. But if they do, maybe we’ll see American Riviera Orchard gift baskets among Brits in the near future.
