(CelebrityAccess) — Award-winning stand-up comedian and former daytime talk show host Ellen DeGeneres has canceled a series of shows on her upcoming comedy tour and hinted that this tour may be her last.
Affected shows include shows scheduled for July 10 at Fair Park Music Hall in Dallas; The Freemasons in San Francisco on July 21; July 23 at the S. Mark Taper Auditorium in Seattle; and August 11 day at the Chicago Theater.
No reason for the cancellation was provided other than an “Unfortunately, event organizers have had to cancel your event” notification.
DeGeneres also said during a recent appearance that she has no plans to return to the spotlight following her upcoming Netflix special, which will be released on the streaming platform later this year.
“This is the last time you’ll see me. After my Netflix special ends, I’m done,” she told the audience at a recent performance at the Luther Burbank Center for the Arts.
DeGeneres got her start as a stand-up comedian in the 1980s and transitioned to television in the 1990s, starring in the sitcom “Ellen,” in which her character famously identifies as gay. Les did the same thing in real life.
In 2003, she founded the daytime talk show “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” which ran for 19 seasons before she quit amid accusations of mistreating employees.
