Ernest resting. On Tuesday, the 32-year-old country singer announced that he would be taking a month off to spend time at home with his family, which includes his wife, Delaney Royer, and their 3-year-old son, Ryman. .
“It’s a dream to go out and play for you every night,” Ernest wrote next to a black-and-white photo of him holding his son. “But I’m not going to lie, running all the time, it took its toll on me. Coming back from London it really hit me.”
“I’m going to take about a month off to regroup and spend some time at home with my family,” he continued. “My son Lyman has now reached an age where every time I come home he asks me if I am leaving… I can no longer bear to hear him asking for his dad on the phone.”
Ernest noted that he wanted to “spend quality time at home and put in the reserves.”
“I’ve been blessed to have a lot of incredible things happen to me, so I want to be the best version of myself for my family and for you,” he concluded. “We’ll be back on the road soon and I’m so grateful to all of you for your support – you’re all doing well.”
Ernest releases his latest album, Nashville, Tennesseeback in April.
After his break, Ernest will perform at several music festivals and fairs starting on August 8th. The tour will continue until October, then Ernest will join Jelly Roll on his Beautifully Broken tour.
