Jason Kelce shares his experience losing weight after leaving the NFL.
In March 2024, Jason Kelce announced his retirement.
This is not during football season. It would have been a no-brainer for him without any noticeable changes in his lifestyle.
Even so, he lost weight and planned to lose more. Although he did have some reasonable limits on how much he wanted his body to change.
Jason Kelce lost weight after retiring
Wednesday, June 26, Zhiqun Sports An interview with Jason Kelce was published in which he discussed his body and fitness goals after retiring from the NFL.
“For most of my NFL career, I weighed 295,” Jason revealed. Until earlier this year, he was playing for the Philadelphia Eagles.
He then added that he was looking forward to “losing some weight.”
Importantly, Jason Kelce clarified that he has set limits on his weight loss goals.
He clarified that he did not want to ” also Small” even though he no longer needs the weight and strength to work.
He detailed that his weight had dropped to 277 pounds. Nearly 20 pounds lighter than he has been throughout most of his football career.
Jason Kelce has a goal weight in mind
“For some reason, I feel like, from 250 to 260, even without a six-pack, I’m still going to be strong and happy with the way I look,” Jason speculates.
Then he added: “But I’ve still been able to maintain a little bit of that status.”
Human bodies vary greatly. For some people, weighing 250 pounds means sudden weight loss and may signal a medical emergency. For others, weight may become a burden on the body and affect health. When we’re talking about a 6-foot-3 former football player, 250-260 sounds like Just right.
Taylor’s “brother-in-law” (not literally) continued, admitting that “it’s hard to imagine him losing nearly 20 pounds.”
However, his back and knees “already feel better” due to the reduced impact force and weight loss experienced by men of his size. This is a great start!
“So putting on another 20 pounds will hopefully make me better at playing with my kids,” Jason Kelce said. He and Kelly Kells have three daughters.
“I had two reconstructions on my right knee and surgery on my hand and groin. I had a broken toe,” he recalled.
“I’ve had my share of issues, not to mention the wear and tear that comes with playing in the NFL for 13 years,” he added.
He will likely feel the aftermath of his successful football career for the rest of his life. His weight loss was a footnote in comparison.
