NASHVILLE (CelebrityAccess) – The seventh annual Nashville Songwriters Awards will return to the historic Ryman Auditorium in September with presenting partner City National Bank.
The annual awards ceremony will recognize NSAI’s Song of the Year, Songwriter and Songwriter-Artist, as well as the peer-voted “10 Songs I Wish I Wrote” award, recognizing individuals who have made a significant impact on the world of songwriting in 2024.
The organization also announced legendary songwriters and recording artists Alan Jackson Will be a 2024 recipient Kris Kristofferson Lifetime Achievement Award.
“When the NSAI Board of Directors selected Alan Jackson as this year’s recipient of the Kris Kristofferson Lifetime Achievement Award, I knew they had made an excellent choice,” said Jennifer Turnbull, chief operating officer of NSAI. “I longed to create a segment in our annual awards ceremony around his work as a songwriter. But it wasn’t until I actually studied his work and recalled his songs over the decades that I realized how deserving he was This recognition. Many of Allen’s songs, which he wrote himself, mark important moments in history and are etched in the memories of generations to celebrate his career with a selection of just a few of his many hits. It will be very challenging to highlight a small section…I’m looking forward to it!

Additionally, producers and songwriters Buddy CannonKnown for his collaborations with artists such as Kenny Chesney and willie nelsonwill be awarded the 2024 Presidential Cornerstone Award.

He has written songs for some of country music’s most legendary superstars, played in their bands on the bus, One of the most important record producers of the past 30 years, Buddy Cannon’s impact on this town’s songwriters is immeasurable. A decade into his career, just like Kenny Chesney’s, this is an example of how incredible a barometer he is for hits. In 2024, NSAI will commemorate a song selected as a “Legendary Song” of its time by NSAI’s professional songwriting members, starting with songs from 1967 to 1983. The song will be chosen through anonymous voting from a list of 10 nominees, and the inaugural winner in 2024 will be announced at the show.
Performer announcements and ticket information will be announced in the coming weeks, with on-sale scheduled for July 26, 2024.
