Victoria Monáe had a long-term boyfriend, John Gaines.
The two clearly mean a lot to each other, even though they kept a low profile early on. In fact, avoiding a public relationship early on may be one of the keys to their success.
However, by December 2020, things became even more public – as Victoria and John were expecting their first child.
In addition to being in love with each other, Victoria Monet and boyfriend John Gaines also have a daughter, Hazel.
The two welcomed their baby girl in February 2021.
Before announcing their pregnancy, their biggest connection in the public eye was Gaines’ appearance in her 2020 music video for “Moment.”
Is Victoria Monet planning to marry boyfriend John Gaines?
She spoke about the topic in September 2021, about half a year after their daughter was born.
Victoria interviewed Nature Regarding the prospect of marrying Gaines, he said marriage was a “definite plan.”
“We are completely in love and enjoying our new chapter,” she continued, gushing. So, obviously, there’s no rush.
“[Hazel has] She literally had him wrapped around her finger,” Victoria Monet said of their daughter.
“And,” she continued, “I saw some changes in him that I knew he didn’t expect.”
Victoria described her experience as a parent to her then-infant daughter: “She was raising us.”
Victoria Monet and John Gaines both continue to praise each other
In May 2023, Gaines celebrated Victoria Mother’s Day on his Instagram.
“I couldn’t have asked for a better female role model for @itshazelmonet to emulate,” he praised. “You are killing this mommy thing, my love. I am so proud of you and I love you.
Victoria gushed back in the comments: “I love you and I wouldn’t be the mom I am without you and your support!”
We’re sure John Gaines will continue to praise Victoria Monet’s performance at the BET Awards on Sunday, June 30.
