Ryan Garcia Won’t retire…boxing superstar tells TMZ Sports He won’t satisfy his critics. So, when his one-year ban is over, King Ry will be back in the squared circle!
But, until then…he’s ready to fight elsewhere outside of the ring.
We caught up with the 25-year-old Garcia in Los Angeles on Friday afternoon, and we asked Ryan about the New York State Athletic Commission penalty, whether he’s truly retired, and whether he’s serious about competing in MMA.
Regarding suspensions and million-dollar bonus clawbacks, Garcia, who also saw his victory stripped away and changed to a “no contest,” had this to say…
“That’s true [hurt]. [Devin’s] A “b” and his dad is a “b”. The only reason I don’t curse is because my daughter is here,” Ryan said of the Haneys.
Last week, Garcia, 25-1 (win 1 NC), announce retirement From boxing. We asked him if he plans to retire for good – which means never boxing professionally again.
“I’m retiring for a year. So they don’t get [satisfaction] Suspend me because this is bullshit. I have never taken steroids in my life. They can all smoke weiner.
As part of his retirement announcement, Ryan said he would be heading to the UFC. We asked him if he was serious about MMA.
“I like ‘Suga’ Sean [O’Malley] Because he protected me [after cheating allegations]. But if he really wants to run it in the UFC, I’ll run it. Or bare knuckles. S***, I’m ready to fight anyone.
Of course, Ryan isn’t signed to the UFC…but Dana White‘A shrewd businessman (who successfully created Floyd Mayweather/Conor McGregor If Garcia faced O’Malley, their bantamweight title fight would be huge.
