Sarah Becker A reality TV star who appeared on MTV’s “The Real World” has died by suicide, TMZ has learned.
A family member of Becker’s family confirmed the tragic news to TMZ … telling us that Becker passed away at his home in Illinois earlier last week. She moved to the area last year to care for her family but plans to move back to California.
Unfortunately, we’re told she’s been struggling with her mental health in recent months… including caring for her ailing mother and sister – and a skateboarding accident made her troubles even worse.
Sarah came to national attention in 1996 when she starred in the fifth season of The Real World in Miami.
At the time she was a 25-year-old comic book store worker from La Jolla, California…fans may remember her bringing home a puppy in episode 13 of the season.
Becker’s season marks the first time the cast has been given a season-long assignment to complete – start a business with $50,000. Conflict and disorganization ultimately led to the failure of their efforts.
Sarah’s family remembers her as a selfless person who took care of others…but, she never seemed to take care of herself. She is 52 years old.
