Karen Derrico gives an update on her personal life.
As previously reported, the TLC star, who starred opposite her husband Deon for five seasons on Double Down With the Derricos, finalized her divorce on June 6.
This surprised many viewers as they had no idea the couple was going through Such serious problem.
Also because they have 14 children.
“I tried my best,” Karen said in a video posted to Instagram on June 20, in which she added:
“The kids are doing great. It’s summer now and we definitely want to keep them all busy and that’s the plan now.
Karen later thanked her fans for the direct messages they received after news of her split became public.
“I felt the love. I literally felt the love. Like, I would almost get emotional,” she said. “It’s awesome to see the downpour. So I want to tell everyone, thank you for your love and support.
Karen and Deon married in 2002.
According to their divorce documents, they plan to split legal and physical custody of their 13 minor children equally, and Deon was ordered to pay $1,166 per month in child support.
Meanwhile, Karen will be responsible for the children’s health insurance.
“We are united in raising our 14 beautiful children and their well-being is our top priority,” the reality stars said in a joint statement when confirming the end of their marriage.
“We appreciate everyone’s understanding and support as we move forward for the benefit of the family.”
In addition to an 18-year-old child, Mr. and Mrs. Derrico are the parents of:
Derek, 13… twins Dallas and Denver, 12… quintuplets Deonee, Daician, Daiten, Deniko and Dariz, 10… Diez and Dior, 6… and triplets Dawsyn, 4 De’Allen and Diver.
Karen unfortunately suffered two miscarriages at the end of 2020 and 2021.
She has previously expressed her willingness to have more children, telling Entertainment Tonight two years ago:
“No, the diaper bag isn’t hung up. I don’t feel complete. I don’t think we’re 100% done yet.
However, as a couple, Karen and Dean Do At this point, 100 appears to be fully completed.
In her new video, Karen says she wants to “work on more self-care” as she transitions to co-parenting and a new phase of life… and that she’d “love to go on vacation somewhere.”
“I have a lot of speaking engagements to do and I have to go through and choose where I’m going to go, but I’m grateful and thankful for that – telling my story, my journey. So I’m definitely going to be thinking about taking care of Karen for a while,” She told everyone that the conclusion was as follows:
“I just want to thank you all for your love and support of our family.”
