Dave Davis is trying to get his hands on a major trophy he once owned, which recently appeared for sale online after disappearing… but may have to give up another prized possession to do so.
The Kinks rocker took to the It fell into their lap and they tried to sell it for over $12,000.

Now, Davis gives us a little more insight into what’s going on here… and more importantly, how he plans to take home the HOF trophy. He told TMZ that the award went missing the day after his stroke… and that he was stunned when he saw the award years later.
I’m working on getting my RRHOF award back. After discussion and looking at old receipts, I only have one storage unit and the payments were never in default. I personally emptied that storage unit a few years ago and I didn’t find my rewards there

After DD decried the situation on social media, the listing was immediately taken down…Dave says he finally got in touch with the seller, but now Davis is stuck in a bargaining position.
He told us that he was not accusing the current seller of any wrongdoing…it appears this person had received the award years ago through what they thought was a legitimate transaction…but Dave said there was no way he would have paid for his work money.
The Kinks frontman says he hopes to have the issue resolved by the weekend … and tells us he’ll be offering the seller some pretty sweet memorabilia, even a guitar, in exchange for the reward. In his opinion, sellers should not leave empty-handed.
As for the heavy handed approach… DD has no interest in getting eBay or law enforcement involved in this matter, he believes it will end amicably. He just wants his sweet trophy back
We’ve reached out to eBay for comment…so far, no response.
