Like her bestie Tamisha Guy, the Dallas native who spoke on our last episode Catherine Kirk Kyle Abraham is a ten-year veteran of AIM and an exciting performer. Kirk describes himself as “a versatile artist” who is fascinated by the stories and questions of “why humans are the way we are.”

Catherine Kirk (She/Her) was born on the unceded lands of the Kickapoi and Wichita peoples, now known as Dallas, Texas. She began formal dance studies at Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts and then graduated from New York University’s Tisch School of Dance. Katherine is a multi-talented person who is also a dance producer, marketing strategist, arts administrator, dance educator and yoga teacher. Kirk completed seasonal programs at the San Francisco School of Dance, the Movement Invention Project, and Montreal Springboard Dance Academy, where she performed works by Fernando Melo, Ohad Naharin, and Sharon Eyal. After graduation, Katherine apprenticed with Sidra Bell Dance in New York and has since collaborated and performed with Danakah Dance, UNA Productions, Burr Johnson, Jasmine Hearn and Helen Simoneau Danse. She is excited to be working with AIM as a Marketing Assistant. Catherine joined AIM in 2013 from Kyle Abraham.
