The 2025 Adelaide Festival will be held from February 28 to March 16, 2025. ’s group dance celebration, all dancers and dance teachers are invited to take part.
Inviting dance schools from any style (ballet, jazz, hip hop, swing, modern, tap, ballroom, salsa, samba, aerobics, belly dance) with a wide range of experience, skill levels and abilities , teachers and dancers to participate in submitting expressions of interest to participate in this epic community project.
Participants will have the opportunity to join a wide range of dancers from all genres and walks of life in this spectacular celebration of dance commissioned by the Adelaide Festival and The Australian Ballet for Stephanie Lake Company.
The Adelaide Festival is seeking dance teachers to provide regular classes to students aged 12 and above (from a variety of dance genres, demographics, ages, abilities and skill levels) who are interested in helping prepare for this community performance team. Dance teachers will learn the unique choreography from Stephanie Lake and teach the piece in class or with a dance team in the lead-up to the festival, performing alongside hundreds of other Adelaide dancers. Final rehearsals for all participants will take place during the week starting February 24, 2025, with the performance taking place on March 1. The festival is also looking for dancers who take regular classes, ages 12 to 100, and of all dance genres, demographics, abilities and skill levels to perform. Dancers are encouraged to participate through classes, schools or as part of a group, and the festival will pair dancers with participating groups wherever possible. If dancers feel confident learning choreography independently through video, this may be an option if it suits their individual skill level, experience, location and other needs.
